INNOVATION AT PROTEUS PACKAGING

At Proteus, we know that innovative technology is critical to the paperboard packaging industry. Technology that helps produce cartons that make an impact for our customers. That’s why we made the commitment to invest in cutting-edge technology – a commitment that was made before we moved into our new facility in 2007. And we’ve delivered on that commitment with the recent installations of a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 145 VLF press and a 57” Dymatrix 145 die cutter with Heidelberg Logistics. Both machines enable us to act nimbly for our customers.

Proteus was the first company in the U.S. to purchase and install the Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 145 VLF press. The 6-color machine with inline aqueous coater supports our goal of efficiency in producing folding cartons. Not only are we able to produce high-quality folding cartons at a faster pace, but we also became more energy efficient through the process – a key component of our P5 Sustainability program.

Another major milestone for Proteus includes the installation of the 57” Dymatrix 145. The die cutting capacity and sheet size make this machine ideal for Proteus and our client’s projects. We are experiencing higher quality and production speed, and it is extremely user friendly. The combination of these two machines has increased our overall speed and quality on client projects.

And we don’t plan on stopping our innovative technology advancements yet. Our next planned technology installation is a 7-color Speedmaster XL 105 with coater. This machine will enhance our capabilities with customers that do not require large format.
